Set against the stunning backdrop of Northern Beaches bushland, our Frenchs Forest renovation was designed to enhance functionality, comfort, and seamless indoor-outdoor living, while tackling the unique challenges of a sloping block home. This project included the refurbishment of two balconies, featuring new tiling, glazing, and custom external joinery, creating a durable, stylish entertainment area where the family could fully enjoy the elevated views.
Inside, we focused on maximising natural light and improving energy efficiency, a must for homes built on a sloping block. We closed off an external wall and installed custom windows, bringing in natural sunlight while maintaining insulation and privacy. A full refurbishment of the home’s cedar windows ensured every frame was properly sealed, repaired, and protected, with all rotten elements replaced to maintain both structural integrity and longevity in the Northern Beaches climate.
To improve thermal insulation and create better zoning between levels, we installed two custom barn doors, effectively enclosing the living, kitchen, and dining areas from the lower level. This not only improved climate control but also added a stylish, functional design feature.
Beyond visual and comfort upgrades, we addressed critical structural repairs, fixing multiple water leaks to safeguard the home against moisture damage—something essential for properties in the Northern Beaches. Additionally, we raised the ceilings in the lower-level TV area, enhancing the sense of space while ensuring continuous visual flow throughout the home.
